The Llyn Peninsula is a great place for watersports, whether you are a complete beginner or an old hand. There are options for all of the popular sports many of them based around Abersoch.
For those with their own equipment, Trefor Beach is a good place to surface or launch your sea kayak and head around the the sea stacks
Hydro Abersoch offers a full range of water based activities, from paddle board hire and lessons right through to RYA approved courses for sailing and motorboats.
You can also book the kids into the Little Pirates Kids Club where they will be taught a wide range of watersports under the guidance of an RYA instructor.
Abersoch Watersports is the place to pick up a new wetsuit, surfboard or paddle board. On the road just as you come into Abersoch, you can also book one of a number of activities.
Take some lessons in surfing or paddleboarding. Perhaps choose a sunrise paddle board tour, or try your hand at coasteering. Most activities are suitable for those 8 years of age or older. Book via their website below or call up on 01758 712483
The Llyn Peninsula has some great surf. Hell’s Mouth, a south-west facing beach near the end of the peninsual offers North Wales's best and most reliable surf break. It is great for surfing, body boarding and kayaking because of the large waves you’ll find here.
Porth Ceiriad, Porthor and Trefor are other top surfing spots in the area, with Ceiriad in particular giving Llyn’s best barrel in the right conditions. Big swell days are not for beginners
The Llyn Pensinsula offers some great sea kayaking options. If you have your own equipment, then launching from Trefor Beach and paddling west to the sea stacks is a great trip on a reasonable weather day.
